Rig Electrician

An exciting opportunity awaits, as Condor Energy's Integrated Solutions Team welcomes the exciting arrival of their new Epiroc Predator Rig. We are currently searching for a Rig Electrician to join the team!
The Electrician plays a vital role within the drilling crew, responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components on drilling equipment. This position is crucial for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems, contributing to the overall success of drilling operations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems associated with drilling equipment, including PLC, HMI, MCC, control panels, motors, and sensors.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring swift and accurate identification of problems, with ability to read electrical and related hydraulic drawings.
Execute repairs promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Maintain and calibrate instrumentation and control systems used in drilling operations.
Ensure the accuracy and functionality of sensors, gauges, and monitoring equipment.
Respond promptly to emergency situations requiring immediate electrical attention.
Commission new and repaired equipment.
Collaborate with other crew members to address critical electrical failures.
Assist in the installation of new electrical systems and components as required.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Conduct wiring tasks, manage cable connections, and maintain cable trays to guarantee the integrity of electrical connections.
Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs, recommended spares list and installations.
Report to the Rig Manager regarding the status of electrical systems and any outstanding issues and participate in cost control.
Assist in rig up and pre spud paperwork for all electrical and earth bonding equipment.
Maintain and update the company’s maintenance system.
Update and maintain all electrical inspections as per company and regulatory requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
3-5 years of experience as an Electrician or in a similar electrical maintenance role within the drilling industry.
Practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems on drilling equipment.
